Product Introduction

Die cast is a process for producing metal parts by pouring molten alloy under high pressure into molds. Therefore, 3 main factors governing die cast are alloy raw material, die cast machine and mold. Conventional die cast process is shown in the following:
Demerit of Mold Fabrication Cost
Quality of die cast products is determined by the accuracy of molds, thus accuracy is necessary during the design and fabrication of molds, and the mold fabrication process is time-consuming. Due to the reason above, mold fabrication cost is high and becomes a big burden for small-lot productions.

Demerit of Lead Time
As compared to other casting methods, the lead time is longer due to lengthy mold fabrication time and involvement of series of processes. For small-lot productions, lengthy mold fabrication occupies large portion of the production time, hence it might jeopardize the efficiency.

Countermeasures for these Deficits
In conjunction with die cast manufacturing processes, our company has a consistent structure which consists of mold fabrication and casting processes, thus we are able to reduce cost and shorten the lead time. However, if the conditions above are not fulfilled, for example, other methods such as simple Gravity method can be used to further reduce the mold fabrication costs and shorten the lead time, in order to satisfy customer requirements.
