Product Introduction

There are a variety of processing methods to make a product from molten alloy, for examples sand casting, mold casting, low pressure casting, sealed casting etc. Each has its own special characteristics and the application is based on respective properties. Comparatively die cast shows a lot of advantages as listed in the following

1
Mass Productivity

Die cast is capable to achieve mass production for complicated-shaped products. However, the cost for products with under cut is expansive, hence die cast is more suitable for products designed without under cut.

2

Dimension Accuracy
As compared to other castings, die cast is capable to achieve high dimension accuracy. Moreover, die cast covers a wide range of application sectors with its smooth surface finishing.

3

Surface Treatment
Due to the smoothness of cast surface, surface treatment of metal plating and coating etc is easier.

4

Wall Thickness
It is possible to make complicated-shaped products with thin wall. This also contributes to product weight reduction.

5

Strength
Mechanical strength changes with product wall thickness, but it is possible to achieve high strength in thin wall with die cast products. Moreover, the strength / unit area increases when the wall thickness decreases.

6

Design
Die cast is capable to produce and design products with complicated shapes, strong, beautiful cast surface and of high accuracy. Moreover, die cast is capable to justify for design changes.

7

Perfection
Die cast is capable to produce precision products with high strength. However, air and vaporized mold release agent etc trapped inside the cavity are easily dragged into the products. Recently, cast voids has been reduced with improved development technology.

8

Insert
It is easy to cast part of die casts with other metals, thus this has widen the functionalities of such parts.

9

Chip Cutting
As compared to other casting methods, which are also producing high precision and complicated-shaped products, significant reduction of machining process is possible for die cast. Moreover, die cast is also capable to produce products where machining is not required.。

10

Economic
The mold fabrication cost of die cast is expensive. However, a single mold can be used to produce products from several thousands pieces to several hundred thousands pieces. Hence, it provides significant cost down for mass production.
